Every betting-site review on Egypt-Betting.com follows the same public method. A brand must first pass an eligibility check. We then assess nine weighted criteria that follow the player journey from registration to withdrawal and player protection. The result is a sportsbook score out of 10.

Methodology version: v1.1  ·  Published: 29 September 2026  ·  Scheduled review cycle: quarterly

Our approach at a glance

  • Designed for users in Egypt. We check regional availability, Egyptian phone registration, EGP accounts, local payment options, Arabic or English support, and relevant football coverage.
  • Evidence and performance are separate. Evidence quality tells readers how certain we are. Performance points tell readers how well the operator meets a criterion. Missing research never becomes a zero for the operator.
  • Fixed criteria and weights. Commercial relationships cannot add points or change a weight.
  • No score before the review is complete. A preliminary assessment may describe confirmed facts, but it does not display a numerical rating.
  • Casino is assessed separately. Casino games may be described for context but never affect the sportsbook score.

Review workflow

Each review follows the same sequence from eligibility checks to publication and scheduled updates:

1
Eligibility check
Confirm the licence, availability for users in Egypt, age controls and the absence of a credible unresolved non-payment pattern.
2
Define the review scope
Record the account region, currency, device and product being assessed.
3
Collect evidence
Document regulator records, binding terms, cashier information, app listings and direct product checks.
4
Test the product
Check registration, deposits, markets, odds, mobile access, withdrawals, support and responsible-gambling tools.
5
Classify the evidence
Mark facts as confirmed, partially confirmed or not verified without treating missing research as a failure.
6
Calculate the score
Score completed checks, apply the published weights and then apply any relevant caps.
7
Editorial review
A separate editor reviews the sources, calculations and limitations; disputes are resolved at evidence or check level.
8
Publish and update
Publish the last-check date and verification label, then recheck quarterly or after a material change.

Step 1: Eligibility check

All eligibility conditions must be completed and passed before a brand can receive a numerical score. If a condition is still being checked, the review is labelled Preliminary assessment and shows no rating.

  1. Verifiable licence: the licence number, operating company and status can be matched to the issuing regulator’s public register.
  2. Availability for Egypt: Egypt can be selected during registration and the operator does not expressly exclude users in Egypt. Where regional access cannot be confirmed, we do not infer it.
  3. Age controls: the operator publishes an adult-only rule and explains when age or identity is verified.
  4. No confirmed pattern of unresolved non-payment: we check dated public complaints from the previous six months, remove duplicates and distinguish delayed cases from unresolved refusals. A pattern means at least three materially similar cases across at least two independent complaint sources, each unresolved for 30 days or more. The count, sources and checking date must be recorded. A pattern triggers editorial review; a brand is marked Not rated only when the evidence remains credible and the operator cannot document resolution.

1. Trust & transparency (20%)

  • Licence status, legal entity, official domains and ownership information.
  • Clear and internally consistent account, betting and withdrawal rules.
  • A written complaints process, account-protection options and a documented response to material complaints.

2. Registration & verification (5%)

  • Registration using details available to a user in Egypt.
  • Published identity-document requirements, verification steps and expected processing times.
  • We do not call registration “fast” without a dated measurement.

3. Deposits (15%)

  • Payment methods actually displayed for an Egypt-configured account, including local wallets or transfers where available.
  • EGP account availability, minimum and maximum amounts, fees and processing information.
  • Deposit methods are recorded separately from withdrawal methods.

4. Bonuses & terms (15%)

  • Eligibility, qualifying deposit, wagering basis, minimum odds, expiry, exclusions and withdrawal restrictions.
  • The practical value of the terms, not the headline percentage alone.
  • Whether locally displayed payment methods are excluded from the offer.

5. Betting markets & odds (15%)

  • Egyptian Premier League, CAF competitions, the national team, major international competitions, live betting and relevant betslip tools.
  • A standardised comparison of 1X2 prices on the same fixtures at the same recorded time.
  • Cash Out, Bet Builder, statistics and streaming are counted only when available to the reviewed account.

6. Website & mobile app (10%)

  • Desktop and mobile navigation, stability and the steps needed to reach the betslip and cashier.
  • Android, iOS, APK, PWA and mobile-web availability, recorded separately.
  • Arabic interface quality and right-to-left support. English availability is recorded but does not substitute for claims of full Arabic localisation.

7. Withdrawals (10%)

  • Available methods, minimums, maximums, fees, verification requirements and published processing periods.
  • Documented complaint patterns and the operator’s response.
  • A real-money withdrawal, when performed, is disclosed as additional evidence. The act of testing does not itself earn extra points.

8. Customer support (5%)

  • Channels, opening hours and supported languages.
  • A dated practical question where contact is possible, with response time and usefulness recorded.

9. Responsible gambling (5%)

  • Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and access to independent support information.
  • Age and identity controls as described by the operator.
  • Unavailable tools reduce the score; tools that could not be verified delay the final rating rather than receiving an automatic zero.

Bookmaker margin

The bookmaker margin, or overround, measures how far the combined implied probabilities in a market exceed 100%. It is a standardised indicator of pricing, not a prediction of what a particular player will lose.

For decimal odds of 2.10 / 3.20 / 3.60, the calculation is (1 ÷ 2.10) + (1 ÷ 3.20) + (1 ÷ 3.60) − 1 = approximately 6.6%.

Once per scheduled review cycle, we compare every brand using the same fixture sample and record 1X2 prices at the same specified interval before kick-off. We publish the sample date, number of fixtures and median margin. An EGP illustration may show what the percentage represents per EGP 100,000 of theoretical turnover, but it is labelled as an illustration rather than an expected personal loss.

Step 3: Evidence status

Status Meaning Effect on scoring
Confirmed Supported by a regulator register, binding operator terms, the account interface, an official app listing or a documented direct check. The performance check can be scored.
Partially confirmed Part of the claim is supported, but an important limit, regional condition or date remains unclear. Only the supported portion can be scored; the limitation is disclosed.
Not verified Only secondary claims exist, sources conflict, or the check has not been completed. No final numerical rating is published until the mandatory check is resolved.
Official source does not mean every marketing claim is proven. Binding terms, cashier data and regulator records can confirm a fact. An unsupported promotional statement remains unverified even when it appears on the operator’s website.

Step 4: How we calculate the score

  1. Each fixed performance check receives 2 points when fully met, 1 when partly met and 0 when confirmed as not met.
  2. Checks marked Not verified are not treated as failures. They prevent publication of a final score until resolved.
  3. Points within each criterion are divided by the maximum available points and multiplied by 10.
  4. Criterion scores are multiplied by the published weights and added.
  5. Any applicable cap is then applied, and the result is rounded to one decimal place.

An editor cannot add or subtract points from the final result. If an editor disputes a score, the underlying evidence and individual check must be reviewed. Any correction is recorded in the review history.

Score caps

  • If a documented test withdrawal remains unpaid seven days after both the operator’s stated deadline and completion of requested verification, the final score cannot exceed 6.0 while the case remains unresolved.
  • If neither Arabic nor English is usable, Website & mobile app cannot exceed 5/10.
  • If sportsbook wagering exceeds 15 times the bonus amount, or material exclusions are hidden or contradictory, Bonuses & terms cannot exceed 3/10. The review states whether wagering applies to the bonus only or to deposit plus bonus.

Rating bands

Score Rating

Verification labels

Label When it is used
Preliminary assessment One or more eligibility or mandatory scoring checks remain unresolved. No numerical rating is displayed.
Assessed from official sources All mandatory checks are complete using primary sources and documented product checks, without a real-money transaction.
Tested with real money The complete assessment also includes a documented deposit and withdrawal. Testing does not add points by itself.
Under review A material change or credible complaint pattern is being checked. The previous score is clearly dated and temporarily withheld where it may be misleading.
Not rated The brand failed an eligibility condition and has no numerical score.

Sources and testing

We prioritise regulator registers, binding terms, cashier and account pages, bonus rules, official app listings and dated direct checks. Complaint platforms and app-store reviews are used to identify patterns, not to prove a fact from a single anonymous report. Other review sites are leads only.

Real-money tests are selected for operational reasons and are disclosed. Because not every brand is tested, testing status is kept separate from product points. A documented failed test can still trigger a cap or re-review because it is direct evidence of a material problem.

Who does the work

Role Responsibility
Nour Ibrahim — Senior Betting Analyst & Reviewer Leads sportsbook research, records evidence and proposes check-level scores.
Ali Hassan — Senior Analyst & Reviewer Supports assigned shared checks such as operator, payment and mobile evidence; casino scoring remains separate.
Mohamed Farouk — Senior Sports Betting Editor Checks sportsbook facts, market coverage, odds samples and calculations.
Anna Brown — Senior Editor Checks sources, consistency, limitations and editorial standards.

Research and editorial approval are separate. Disagreements are resolved by checking the evidence, not by applying a discretionary adjustment to the final score.

What does not affect the score

  • Affiliate commission, advertising terms or operator requests.
  • Brand popularity, sponsorships or celebrity promotion.
  • The headline bonus amount without its conditions.
  • Casino, slot or crash-game quality.
  • A single anonymous complaint.
  • Features we have not verified.

Limitations, licensing and the law

A score is an editorial assessment based on evidence available on the checking date, not a guarantee. Availability, payments, offers and individual outcomes can change.

Egypt does not currently provide a clear, dedicated local licensing framework for online sports-betting operators. An international licence identifies an overseas regulator; it does not establish that betting is lawful for every person in Egypt. Nothing on Egypt-Betting.com is legal advice.

The site is for adults only. Readers must meet the minimum age required by the law applicable to them and by the operator. Because the legal position can differ, this methodology does not infer a universal numerical age threshold without a verified legal basis.

Updates, methodology changes and corrections

Reviews are scheduled for a quarterly recheck and may be reviewed sooner after a licensing, payment, bonus or complaint change. Every review shows its last-check date. If a scheduled review becomes overdue, it is labelled accordingly rather than presented as current.

Minor methodology updates clarify wording or add non-scored information. Major updates change weights, scales or scored checks and require every affected brand to be rescored under the new version. Score-changing corrections are recorded in the review history.

Readers and operators may submit documented factual corrections. Confirmed errors are corrected within 10 working days. Operators can correct facts but cannot negotiate points.

Frequently asked questions

No. A documented deposit or withdrawal adds direct evidence, but the act of testing does not earn extra points. A failed test may trigger a score cap or a new review.

It is marked as not verified and is not treated as a failure. If the check is mandatory, the final numerical rating is withheld until the issue is resolved.

Reviews are scheduled for a quarterly recheck and may be reviewed sooner after a material licensing, payment, bonus or complaint change.

No. Affiliate commission, advertising terms and operator requests cannot add points or change the published criteria or weights.

No. It identifies an overseas regulator but does not establish that betting is lawful for every person in Egypt. This methodology is not legal advice.

Casino and sportsbook products are assessed separately. Casino information may provide context, but it does not change the sportsbook rating.
